Jay joined Winright Law as an articling student in 2025 and was called to the Bar in 2026. Originally from Toronto, he brings a diverse professional and academic background to his legal work, with experience spanning property management, judicial support, and community legal services. His practice at Winright Law covers both litigation and solicitor work, giving him broad exposure to the full range of legal matters the firm handles on behalf of its clients.

Jay earned his Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia’s Peter A. Allard School of Law, where he volunteered as a clinician with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, helping underserved community members navigate legal challenges and access justice. He also completed the Judicial Externship Program at the Provincial Court of British Columbia, working alongside judges on a wide range of civil and criminal matters and gaining firsthand insight into how courts evaluate evidence, apply the law, and reach decisions. Before law school, Jay worked as a Property Manager overseeing a 220-unit high-volume condominium in Toronto, where he led major operational and capital initiatives, an experience that sharpened his attention to detail, his ability to manage competing priorities, and his understanding of real estate and property-related issues from a practical perspective.

Outside the office, Jay enjoys exploring Vancouver, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and spending time with family and friends back in Toronto.
